Scientific symposium : “Flood forecasting – progress, development and prospects”.

From 28 to 30 November, the “Société Hydrotechnique de France” organised a scientific symposium focusing on “flood forecasting – advances, development and prospects” at the Météopole site in Toulouse. The event coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Service Central d’Hydrométéorologie et d’Appui à la Prévision des Inondations (SCHAPI).

Sylvain CHAVE, Director of Engineering at Predict Services, took part in the event, alongside other risk management players, to present the tools, methods and solutions deployed by Predict to support local authorities in anticipating and managing risks, to ensure the protection of people and property in their areas.

Two main themes were addressed during the day :

  • Crisis preparation and management ;
  • Progress made and prospects for improvement in flood forecasting.
