The Covid-Climat study published in the international journal Nature

Reconnue par la communauté scientifique internationale, l'étude Predict sur l'IPTCC a été publiée lundi 8 novembre 2021 dans la revue internationale Nature.

The research conducted by Predict resulted in the creation of a specific index, the IPTCC, for Index Predict of Climatic Transmissivity of COVID19, in the spring of 2020, during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. This index establishes a correlation between climatic factors (humidity and air temperature) and the spread of the virus.

This work, the subject of numerous collaborations with scientific and institutional actors, has been further developed in recent months with Hippolyte d’Albis (Paris School of Economics, CNRS – Centre national de la recherche scientifique) and Dramane Coulibaly (Université Lumière Lyon 2).

The study demonstrates that the IPTCC is involved in predicting hospitalizations due to Covid-19. It also suggests that specific weather conditions may have caused hospitalizations and deaths. It is based on regional data in France between March 2020 and January 2021.
